What this site collects, what it does not, and how to reach the person behind it.
This is the personal website of Tom Børvan, Oslo, Norway. It is a portfolio, not a product: there are no accounts, no forms, no newsletter and no advertising. This page explains what the site stores and what it does not. Last updated 21 August 2026.
What the site collects
- Server logs. The site is hosted on Vercel. Like any web server, Vercel records standard request data (IP address, user agent, requested URL, time) for a short period to operate and secure the service. I do not export or analyse these logs.
- Aggregated analytics. The site uses Vercel Web Analytics to count page views and referrers in aggregate. It does not set cookies and does not track you across sites. I use the totals to see which pages are read.
- Your theme choice. If you switch between dark and light mode, the preference is stored in your browser's localStorage. It never leaves your device.
What the site does not do
- No tracking cookies, no advertising or social-media pixels, no fingerprinting.
- No contact form. If you email me, your message sits in my mailbox like any other email and is used only to reply to you.
- No selling or sharing of data with third parties.
Machine-readable endpoints
The site also serves a public API, an MCP server and markdown versions of its pages for AI agents. These endpoints return public information about me. Requests to them are logged in the same way as page views, nothing more. Please do not send personal data in requests; none is needed.
Third parties
- Vercel (hosting, CDN, analytics): see vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.
- Sanity (content management): page content is stored in Sanity and served from this domain. Sanity receives nothing about you.
- Links to LinkedIn, X and other sites lead to services with their own privacy terms.
Your rights
Under the GDPR and the Norwegian Personal Data Act you can ask what data I hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and complain to Datatilsynet, the Norwegian Data Protection Authority. In practice the only personal data I am likely to hold is an email you sent me. Write to tborvan@gmail.com and I will sort it out.
Changes
If the site starts collecting something new, this page changes first. The date at the top tells you when.
